Meet Alicia – “My skin majorly impacted my daily life… I feel so much more confident, I am so glad I found these products!”

Mum of 2 Alicia struggled with her breakout prone skin for years and tried many things to improve her skin with a little success…
…then she found our tallow-based Daily Moisturiser and Konjac Sponge. After a little initial skepticism and a few questions, she’s now super happy with her Ecology Skincare products.
Here’s Alicia’s story…
“I am a 33 year old stay at home mum. I have two beautiful daughters and am currently pregnant with baby number 3 (surprise gender)…
I have struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember, right back to primary school. My skin has suffered with a whole realm of things, from acne, excessive oil, dryness and just overall dull. It has really taken its toll on my self esteem.
My skin has majorly impacted my daily life. I wouldn’t leave the house without make up and even then I’d be constantly worrying and hiding in the background.
I have tried specific acne targeted brands, along with more natural brands, but nothing seemed to agree with my skin. I tried eliminating sugar and dairy, but didn’t notice much of a change.
I tried endless products, diet changes… and it sometimes made minor differences, but nothing substantial.
I had heard Tallow was great for your skin and in my hunt to try yet another product I came across Ecology Skincare.
I have to admit I was sceptical at first, but I thought what have I got to lose.
I contacted Crystal and discussed my best options via email. She was very helpful and prompt in her reply. I ordered a trial pack.
Within the first few days of trying the ‘Daily Moisturiser with Hemp and Nerolina’ my face felt softer.
I apply it morning and night. When I wake up in the morning my skin still feels plump and soft to touch.
My acne has improved a lot. I hardly get any bumps and if I do they clear within a day or two. I am so happy with this product! I just love it!
My skin care regime is very simple, which I love.
At night I hop in the shower and use the Microfibre Cleaning Cloth to remove make up, dirt, oil buildup from the day. I follow with the Pure Konjac sponge. After I have dried myself I use the Daily Moisturiser with Hemp and Nerolina before bed. Upon waking I also apply a small amount of the same Daily Moisturiser and that’s it!

It’s always a win when you find something that calms the look of breakout prone skin, leaving skin looking plump, soft and hydrated – and giving you the confidence to leave the house without makeup on.
We find it’s people with ‘hormonal’ acne or breakouts that tend to get the best results with the Ecology Creams…
…but honestly, when it comes to breakout prone skin – everyone’s different and it can really depend on what’s driving oil production and breakouts.
We tend to think our skin is oily when we’re getting breakouts …but that’s not always the case.
A number of adults with acne actually have acne tarda or ‘dry’ acne.
This is where skin is lacking in oils and water.
So when we use those harsher products or treatments to ‘get rid of’ the oil we think is there, we can strip protective oils and lipids from our skin’s outer layer and dry out the skin even more.
…this sets us up for more breakouts.
Now you might be wondering what tallow is and why Alicia’s Daily Moisturiser has been so helpful for her…?
Our Ecology Creams are handmade with a little known ingredient called grass-fed tallow.
Grass-fed tallow is a gently rendered fat (like emu oil), but it comes from healthy, grass-fed cows
(so this isn’t for our vegan friends!)
Grass-fed tallow might be ‘little known’ now… but everyone from the Aboriginal Australians to our great grandmothers used to use traditional animal fats like tallow, for everything from burns and chafing to blisters and wound healing.

- It’s balanced in omega 3’s and 6’s …both are important for healthy skin
So this means grass-fed tallow (along with the jojoba oil in the Ecology Creams) can help balance oil on skin and replace missing components in skin’s outer layer …keeping moisture IN and allergens and irritants OUT.
…which means grass-fed tallow can also help calm redness and leave skin looking plump, ‘healthy’ and well hydrated.
