Meet Sally – “My skin feels hydrated and nourished without any oiliness”

Sally, a mum of 3 needed a simple, natural skincare regime that fitted in with her low-tox, healthy lifestyle and didn’t leave her skin feeling greasy, oily or dehydrated…
Now 3 years after first discovering Ecology Skincare, Sally’s still loving her simple skincare regime that leaves her skin looking healthier and brighter than ever!
Here’s Sally’s story…
“I am a 46 year old proud mama of 3 children. I am passionate about fitness, healthy eating and chemical free products in our home.
As someone who doesn’t like to wear make-up, I was looking for a low maintenance, chemical free moisturiser that applied easily without oiliness and also helped with fine lines and gave my skin natural radiance.
I tried beauty salon products and oils that still left my skin feeling dehydrated and a little too highly fragranced for my liking.
I love the fragrance of all my Ecology purchases. The moisturisers apply effortlessly and absorb beautifully into my skin – I like to try a new one each time I order.
My favourite to date is the Daily Moisturiser with Hemp and Nerolina. My skin feels hydrated and nourished without any oiliness.
Each morning and night I wash my face with a gentle cleanser and my bamboo microfibre face cloth. I pat dry my face and apply my Ecology moisturiser.
I like to apply upwards starting from my neck and pay extra attention massaging around my eyes and forehead.

Now you might be wondering why Sally is still loving her Ecology Moisturiser over beauty salon products?
As we get older, our skin barrier weakens and our skin produces less of those fats and oils that keep it soft, supple and hydrated.
So we might notice our skin is drier, more dehydrated and fine lines look more pronounced.
Cholesterol is critical for healthy skin and for strengthening our skin’s barrier function – and it’s particularly helpful for skin that’s dehydrated …but it’s found in so few products.
Cholesterol is in our Ecology Creams, because it’s found naturally in our hero ingredient – grass-fed tallow.
Grass-fed tallow is a gently rendered fat (like emu oil), but it comes from healthy, grass-fed cows
(so this isn’t for our vegan friends!)
Grass-fed tallow contains the same kinds of fats and oils we have naturally in skin. So it soaks in nicely and helps support skin’s barrier function, keeping allergens and irritants out and moisture in.
…and it helps to soften, smooth and hydrate dehydrated skin without being greasy.
Grass-fed tallow also:
- Contains fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K …all of which are crucial for healthy skin (some of these are also antioxidants)
- Is balanced in omega 3’s and 6’s …both are important for healthy skin
Not only that, as we get older, our skin produces less of those lipids (the fats and oils) that keep it soft, supple and looking plump and hydrated – grass-fed tallow helps to replace these for healthy looking skin at every age.

The Daily Moisturisers contain camellia and frankincense to help soften and smooth skin of all ages. And frankincense is also known for helping to soften the look of scars and fine lines.
The Daily Moisturiser with Ylang Ylang is lighter in texture than our other Ecology Creams. It contains camellia, kakadu plum and frankincense to soft, plump and hydrated looking skin and it has a delightful floral aroma.
And the hemp seed oil in the Daily Moisturiser with Hemp and Nerolina is known for helping to protect dry, tired or dehydrated skin and soften and smooth skin. This moisturiser is also lighter in texture and is helpful for balancing oil on skin and it contains nerolina and the lemon scented tea tree oil which can be helpful for protecting against signs of breakouts.
And the Revitalising Cream is in the middle of our range for richness. And it contains manuka and kanuka oils helpful for reducing the look of redness and breakouts. It has a mild herbal aroma.
