Meet Nai – “My skin was so dry in winter… now I can feel my skin is soft and smooth all day long, no itchiness or redness”

Nai’s skin was suffering through the Australian winters… her skin became dry, itchy, flaky, red and uncomfortable and she had to reapply moisturiser multiple times through the day.
Then she found our Daily Moisturiser, initially the natural ingredients appealed and now she loves that she can apply her Daily Moisturiser once in the morning and her skin feels soft and smooth all day.
Here’s Nai’s story…
“I am 48 years old. I grew up in a tropical country which is very humid, but when I came to Australia my skin was so dry in winter.
I tried so many products in the market… I had to apply moisturiser during the day, but sometimes it was still dry especially on a windy day.
My skin started to become flaky and red. It felt uncomfortable and I was frustrated that I could not find a good product for my skin.
Many of them have unnatural ingredients which irritated my skin. My skin is very sensitive to chemicals, so I can use natural products only.
One day I saw Ecology on my Facebook feed and also I know there’s a lot of good stuff in grass-fed tallow, so I gave it a try.
When I use my Daily Moisturiser, I can feel my skin is soft and smooth all day long, no itchiness or redness.
It makes my life so much easier. Apply once in the morning and I am ready to go on with my day. I feel good about my skin and this increases my confidence with my own natural skin.

It’s always a win when you find something that softens and smooths dry winter skin and leaves you feeling happier in your own skin.
Now you might be wondering why Nai’s Daily Moisturiser is working so well for her in winter when other moisturisers had to be reapplied…?
Well, our skin cells are like bricks.
And in between our skin cells, sits a glue or mortar made up of cholesterol, fatty acids and ceramides.
…it works like a living wall that keeps allergens, microbes and irritants out and moisture in.
When our skin’s barrier function becomes disrupted – like it can in a dry environment – this is when water can escape from skin and allergens and irritants can get in… leading to dry, itchy skin and redness.
Cholesterol in particular is helpful for skin that’s dry and easily irritated …but it’s found in so few products.
Cholesterol is in our Ecology Creams, because it’s found naturally in our hero ingredient… grass-fed tallow.
Grass-fed tallow is a gently rendered fat (like emu oil), but it comes from healthy, grass-fed cows
(so this isn’t for our vegan friends!)
Grass-fed tallow contains the same kinds of fats and oils we have naturally in skin. So it soaks in nicely and helps support skin’s barrier function, keeping allergens and irritants out and moisture in.
…helping to calm itching and leave skin looking soft, smooth and well hydrated.

It’s because big brand moisturisers are typically 50-80% water (or aqua)
Take a look and you’ll see water as a first ingredient in many of these products.
But this means, there’s only 20-50% left for the skin nourishing ingredients.
