Meet Cara and Miss A – “So grateful for this cream! It’s a permanent fixture in our bathroom and first aid kit”

Cara and her family have frequent ‘skin challenges’ due to a genetic connective tissue disorder that means they often see longer skin healing times and skin flare ups with rashes, redness and easily irritated skin.
We’ve talked to Cara quite a few times over the years she’s been using her favourite Soothing Baby Cream – including for Mr E’s story – and she continues to be grateful to have our yellow cream on hand and in her first aid kit to deal with life’s challenges!
Here’s Cara and Miss A’s story…
“Our yellow tub of goodness continues to save both my kids (and me!) several times a week.
We have a connective tissue disorder and one of the manifestations of that is mast-cell over activation and huge skin reactions/ rashes/ blisters/ hives etc – and this is the only thing I can put on my daughter’s skin when she flares.
We never quite know when she’s going to have a skin problem, because we can’t establish any specific triggers – but we’ve got the yellow cream on hand at home, in the handbags, first aid kit and camping gear 😂
The worst was when I changed her titanium earrings over to pretty little sterling silver ones, and she had a severe reaction to the silver. I used cortisone cream to try and stop the rash and of course she reacted to that and blistered from the top of her ear down to her neck.
The yellow (Soothing Baby) cream in a wet saline compress was the only way we got the blisters to stop cracking and weeping. A valuable lesson was learned that week!!
It’s such a blessing having something so gentle and natural that I know won’t sting her when her skin is so raw.

Our skin cells are like bricks… and in between our skin cells, sits a glue or mortar made up of cholesterol, fatty acids and ceramides.
It works like a living wall that keeps allergens, microbes and irritants out and moisture in.
When our skin’s barrier function becomes disrupted, this is when water can escape from skin and allergens and irritants can get in – leading to redness and irritation.
Cholesterol in particular is helpful for skin that’s flared up and easily irritated – but it’s found in so few products.
Cholesterol IS in our Ecology Creams, because it’s found naturally in our hero ingredient… grass-fed tallow.
Grass-fed tallow is a gently rendered fat (like emu oil), but it comes from healthy, grass-fed cows
(so this isn’t for our vegan friends!)
Grass-fed tallow contains the same kinds of fats and oils we have naturally in skin. So it soaks in nicely and helps support skin’s barrier function, keeping allergens and irritants out and moisture in.
…so it helps to calm redness and leave skin looking plump and well hydrated.
Grass-fed tallow also:
- Contains fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K – all of which are crucial for healthy skin (some of these are also antioxidants)
