We wanted to bring the essence of spring into your skincare routine and give your skin and mood what you need, when you need it.

Spring is a time of renewal and fresh beginnings. The world around us starts to wake up and brighten…

With this in mind, we spent hours carefully selecting and sourcing high quality antioxidant-rich ingredients to hydrate and brighten the look of dry, dull skin and to awaken your senses with a light floral springtime aroma.

And like a fresh spring breeze, this luxurious cream will be limited to the season of spring – here today, gone tomorrow.

The Spring Breeze contains essential oils of Bergamot, Rose Geranium and Lemon as blended for us by a third generation perfumer with a little added Vanilla fruit extract – so it has a light sweet citrus and floral aroma

The Spring Delicate does not contain any essential oils.
It does still have an aroma – any natural product without masking agents has the natural aroma of the ingredients in the product. And the nutrient dense rosehip seed extract we’ve chosen has a kind of earthy, cooling herbal tea aroma.

To this we’ve added a small amount of vanilla fruit extract, so the Spring Delicate has a mild, tea-like aroma with a smidgey-hint of vanilla.

Caring for your Ecology Cream

  • Store in an ambient, dry place. Ideally between 18-30°C and out of direct sunlight. If cream gets too cold, small lumps can form. A cream with small lumps is still absolutely fine to use, it will just need a little extra warming before use.
  • For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
  • Ecology Creams are preservative free because they are anhydrous formulations (meaning there is no water in them). Keep them water-free by ensuring your fingers are clean and dry when applying cream and by replacing the lid tightly after use.
  • Ecology Creams are highly concentrated, with no filler ingredients, so only a small amount is needed.
  • The creams will melt nicely when you rub them between your fingers or palms (so don’t skip this step!) and they will absorb easily into your skin. Your skin should not feel greasy. If it does, you are using too much.
  • Consistency will change with temperature. Creams will become harder in cool climates and very soft in warmer climates.
  • For maximum nutrient density, use within 6 months of opening.

Made with nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich ingredients

Tallow from Grass-fed Cows

Grass-fed tallow deeply moisturises and softens skin. It's ultra rich in the same kinds of healthy fats and lipids found naturally in healthy looking skin, contains Vitamins A, D, E, & K and is balanced in essential fatty acids.

Our tallow comes from 100% grass-fed, free range - never confined to feedlot - pasture raised cows. No antibiotics ever and no added hormones or growth promotants

Organic Rosehip Seed Extract

We chose Rosehip Seed Extract for this cream because it's deeply moisturising and hydrating for dry, mature and sun damaged skin. It contains skin-nourishing Vitamins A & E and essential fatty acids, plus carotenoids to help protect skin from environmental stressors. And it's been shown to support skin elasticity, brighten look of dull skin, improve natural skin colour and even skin tone.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil

We chose Prickly Pear Seed Oil for this cream because it soothes, calms and moisturises fragile, dry or mature skin. Prickly Pear seed oil contains skin-nourishing essential fatty acids plus Vitamins E & K to protect and repair the look of sun damaged skin. And it's been shown to brighten the look of dull skin, even skin tone and soften the look of sun spots and under eye circles.

Here's what our willing human testers are saying about the Rosehip & Prickly Pear Dream Creams...

Zita, pre-launch tester

I love how silky it feels on the fingers and when applied to my face and how it melts in and makes my skin feel hydrated and soft. It keeps my skin feeling hydrated all day, no tightness.

Wendy, pre-launch tester

Soft and very smooth. The texture is much lighter than the autumn and winter creams and just feels very fine and smooth and easy to apply... Just smelt very lightly fragranced....For my money and for my skin it's the best cream you've produced yet.

Bindi, pre-launch tester

It has a lovely rose geranium scent and a soft, luscious texture that melts beautifully into the skin, leaving it feeling nourished, smooth and hydrated without being heavy.
I found it gentle enough for sensitive, mature skin and light enough to use both day and night. I also used it on a sensitive, flaky dry patch near my eye and experienced no irritation. In fact, it helped the area settle and return to normal.

Heather, pre-launch tester

I found the essential oil combination to have a very refreshing aroma. I love essential oils!! The cream left my skin feeling super soft & hydrated, without feeling heavy & oily.
I had a young colleague at work ask what I use for my skin care as she loved how dewy & glowing my skin looked!

Claire, pre-launch tester

Texture in-between summer and winter is great, perfect for weather, and this my fave aroma yet... my skin loves your moisture creams so it only comes down to scent for me. And I love lemon/citrus so a win in my book

Jen, pre-launch tester

Lovely light cream that made my dry skin feel baby soft... A little bit went a long way and my dry skin lapped it up. My skin felt smooth but not sticky like some tallow creams.

Carolyn, pre-launch tester

has a fresh, lovely scent and a silky-smooth consistency that feels rich and luxurious without being too heavy. It left my skin feeling beautifully smooth and softened the fine lines on both my face and hands. Overall, I absolutely loved it — it may just be my new favourite Dream Cream!

Beautiful💓I would wear this scent as a perfume. The bergamot and lemon with the rose is a beautiful combination. This dream cream has the most beautiful scent and has left my mature age skin looking more glowy. It blends in well and I look forward to my am and pm ritual.

Gigi, pre-launch tester

Dreamy creamy dewy glowy and plump skin after trialling this

Jules, pre-launch tester

My skin felt softer and plumper. and much more refreshed. The creams were so easy to apply and move around my skin. My skin straight away felt soft and not at all greasy (even if I went overboard with the cream- I spread it further across my skin). My skin felt instantly hydrated and I noticed it plumped out and filled in my finer wrinkles. The essential oils were not overpowering and just had the right amount of scent for me.

Nadia, pre-launch tester

The texture of the cream is so smooth, it goes on beautifully and absorbs very well. I have very dry skin, applying this once in the morning keeps my skin feeling hydrated all day.really happy. I like a simple straight forward routine... Beautiful scent... Lovely fresh & delicate spring day

Helen, pre-launch tester

The feel was light though moisturizing, absorbed easily, didn't feel greasy. It held up all day regardless of windy cold weather. Was able to use a good BB tinted cream on top occasionally without any problems. I think it will be a perfect cream for Spring

FAQ

We formulated these Dream Creams with Spring in mind - from the richness of the cream, to the high quality oils and extracts we selected, to the aroma blend that was expertly crafted by a third generation perfumer.

So like a fresh spring breeze these creams will be here for the season of spring then gone.

If you like them and can't live without them, let us know and we'll take this into consideration for future decisions and formulations.

The organic rosehip seed extract we've sourced is extracted using supercritical volcanically sourced CO2. This is a step up from cold pressing as it ensures a more stable end product and more bioactive components are present - including carotenoids - as seen by it's vibrant colour.

The high level of carotenoids in this organic rosehip seed extract gives the Hydrating Dream Cream it's sunny yellow colour.

Yes, this cream contains essential oils of Bergamot, Rose Geranium and Lemon in a blend that was created especially for us by a third generation perfumer at a dosage that meets the IFRA standards for safety - so the Spring Flourish has a light, sweet citrus and floral aroma.

Both Spring limited edition blends contain our hero ingredients - grass-fed tallow, jojoba oil and organic camellia oil along with a high quality and potent organic rosehip seed extract and prickly pear seed oil.

The Spring Breeze also contains essential oils of Bergamot, Rose Geranium and Lemon as blended for us by a third generation perfumer - so the Spring Breeze has a light, sweet citrus and floral aroma

The Spring Delicate does not contain any essential oils.
It does still have an aroma - any natural product without masking agents has the natural aroma of the ingredients in the product. And the nutrient dense rosehip seed extract we've chosen has a kind of earthy, cooling herbal tea aroma.

To this we've added a small amount of vanilla fruit extract, so the Spring Delicate has a mild, tea-like aroma with a smidgey-hint of vanilla.

We formulated this cream with spring in mind - so it sits in the middle of our range for richness. It's not one of our richest creams or one of our lightest creams.

It will be lighter in texture and feel than our blue Replenishing Cream and orange Rejuvenating Cream.

It will feel the most similar to our green Revitalising Cream and yellow Soothing Baby Cream.

And it will be slightly richer in texture and feel than our Daily Moisturisers.

Anyone with dry or mature skin or skin that's prone to dullness, sun damage or sun spots

Yes! ...these creams can be used on the face, hands, arms, legs - anywhere that needs moisturising and some TLC

The short answer is that context and processing matter in the question of "are all seed oils bad for you?"

The main reasons people avoid seed oils are concerns around the high heat industrial processing that strips nutrients and antioxidants from the oils and leaves them more prone to oxidation, plus a higher ratio of omega 6's vs. omega 3's.

And we get it! ...we also avoid consuming seed oils in our diet and have done for the last 12+ years.

But the seed oils used in cosmetics are different to the industrialised seed oils that are mass produced for the food industry - so you can’t tar them with the same brush.

The seed oils used in cosmetics and in our creams are typically organic and cold pressed, so they’re not subjected to the same high heat, solvent extraction as mass produced seed oils for the food industry.

One critical outcome of this difference in processing is that cold-pressed and CO2 extracted seed oils retain all of their vitamins and antioxidants that normally get stripped out with industrialised processing.

Sunflower is naturally high in Vitamin E and cold pressed sunflower oil contains relatively high amounts of Vitamin E which helps to prevent oxidation of the more fragile elements in cold-pressed sunflower oil.

(and of course one of the major concerns with industrialised seed oils is around oxidation of the omega 6's - a very real concern when this Vitamin E is stripped out - but not as much of a concern with cold pressed seed oils that retain their natural antioxidants)

And the Rosehip Seed Extract we've chosen for these Dream Creams is extracted using supercritical volcanically sourced CO2. This is a step up from cold pressing as it ensures a more stable end product and more bioactive components are present - including carotenoids and other antioxidants.

This context and processing matters.
I would definitely avoid putting highly processed, industrialised seed oils on my skin, but cold pressed seed oils are beneficial for skin when balanced with healthy fats, lipids and other fatty acids.

Here's why - Omega 6's are actually critical for our skin health (especially linoleic acid and gamma linoleic acid)

Without linoleic acid our skin would become thick, scaly, rash and our skin barrier function would be seriously compromised. Omega 6's make up an essential part of ceramides - one of the 3 main components of a healthy skin barrier alongside fatty acids and cholesterol.

And it's always important to remember the balance - omega 6's are only bad when they are extremely overbalancing omega 3's.

Omega 3's, 6's and 9's should not be avoided on the skin as they are all critical for healthy skin, especially in conjunction with the other fatty acids and cholesterol found in grass-fed tallow.

On the sunflower oil we use in our Soothing Baby Cream - we use a high oleic acid type of organic cold pressed sunflower oil in our Soothing Baby Cream (this is more commonly used in cosmetics as it's more stable) and the fatty acid profile reads like this: oleic acid 84%, stearic acid 2%, palmitic acid 4% and linoleic acid 7%

...so the amount of omega 6's in this sunflower oil is much lower than that found in mass produced seed oils for the food industry.

In addition to all of this - when we apply products containing omega 6's on our skin, they're not going through first pass metabolism in the liver and being turned into the more inflammatory arachidonic acid.

And lastly - all well formulated products containing plant oils, butters and essential oils should contain an antioxidant to protect the oils from oxidation and our creams are no different. We formulate all of our creams with a rosemary leaf extract that acts as an antioxidant.

Pheeww... hope that answers your question!
