Meet Betty – “My face was so dry with sun spots from being a child of the 40’s and 50’s… Ecology has saved my face”

At 79 years of age, Betty was struggling with sun damaged skin, sun spots and dry skin breakouts that became painfully sore – until she found Ecology Skincare.

Here’s Betty’s story…
“My face was so dry with sun spots from being a child of the 40’s and 50’s. I was having dry skin break outs that became very sore…
I guess being in my late 70’s, but it was getting worse with everything I tried, especially after using makeup. My doctor prescribed me some liquid that I tried and had to peel off, but it took some eyebrow with it.
I didn’t think anything would calm my dry skin on my face… I used different products to no avail, and had one spot burnt off, but the skin was so dry around it.
My first lot of Ecology was my saviour… slowly it is working. Still have flare ups, but as soon as I apply Ecology my skin settles down.
I was using Rejuvenating Cream. I was finding this settled my skin down where my sun spots and really dry skin are, it is helping as it’s not tender or sore. But if my skin had broken out, I used the Replenishing Cream as this also helps.
And then I changed tack – and the Baby one is so beautiful and my skin feels soft.
Since using the Ecology Soothing Baby Cream, my skin has improved greatly. Soft and smooth. And I am just so pleased with what’s been happening with my sun spots.

Honestly, when it comes to fine lines, wrinkles, sun damaged skin and sun spots – it’s a natural part of ageing… and everyone’s different and there are no ‘miracles’
The brown pigmentation with sun spots is caused when cells become damaged due to sun exposure, skin trauma, inflammation (acne), smoke, pollution or hormones. It happens naturally as we live our lives.
The pigmentation is likely there to stay, but the good news is you can reduce the look of it 🙂
When skin is dry, any pigmentation, dark spots or sun spots will ‘stand out’ more.
Dry skin and skin that’s damaged needs fatty acids and cholesterol for skin to look soft, smooth and hydrated.
(when skin is hydrated and healthy looking – sun spots are less noticeable)
Cholesterol in particular is helpful for skin that’s damaged …it makes up a large part of our skin’s cell membrane and sits in between skin cells forming a living wall (with fatty acids and ceramides) to help keep moisture in skin.
…but it’s found in so few products.
Cholesterol IS in our Ecology Creams, because it’s found naturally in our hero ingredient… grass-fed tallow.
Grass-fed tallow is a gently rendered animal fat (like emu oil), but it comes from healthy, grass-fed cows
(so this isn’t for our vegan friends!)
Grass-fed tallow contains the same kinds of fatty acids and cholesterol we have naturally in our skin and in between skin cells.
So grass-fed tallow can help support our skin’s outer layer and barrier function …keeping moisture IN and allergens and irritants OUT.
…and because of this, our Ecology Moisturisers can work REALLY well for dry and dehydrated skin.
