Ordinary salt can be dehydrating for skin, but Dead Sea Salt is rich in magnesium and calcium.
It also contains essential minerals – potassium, sulphur, bromide and chloride.
These minerals can help strengthen skin’s barrier function and improve skin hydration, helping skin to look soft, plump and well hydrated.
This Dead Sea Salt is unrefined, solar-evaporated salt from the southern Dead Sea in Israel.
A Dead Sea Salt Rinse can help calm and replenish the look of red, irritated and flaky skin.
It’s perfect for use on skin that’s prone to breakouts, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema.
Add a spoonful of Dead Sea Salt into 1 cup of water and this Dead Sea Salt solution can be used as a skin rinse or put into a spray bottle to spritz skin.
To be extra gentle on irritated skin, we suggest using the Dead Sea Salt Skin Rinse with a bamboo face cloth.
Dead Sea Salt Skin Rinse with a Bamboo Cloth
- Dissolve the equivalent of ½ – 2 tsps of salt into ½ cup of hot water and
let it cool to warm / lukewarm - Submerge bamboo cloth in the salt water and gently wring out
(although don’t wring it too much) - Drape cloth over your skin and press gently
- Allow cloth to sit on your skin for a few minutes
- Remove cloth and rinse it with lukewarm water, drape cloth over face again and press gently
- Rinse your skin with lukewarm water and gently pat skin dry with a soft towel or bamboo cloth
- Moisturise with your favourite Ecology Moisturiser
- Can be used daily, a couple of times a week or as needed
Alternatively salt solution can be used as a rinse for skin or put into a spray bottle to spritz skin, rinse skin with lukewarm water and pat skin dry with bamboo face cloth
Here’s what some of our customers have been saying after using our Dead Sea Salt Skin Rinse for a couple of weeks…
Acne…
“[my skin] feels so much smoother and my active acne has gone down on my cheeks. My spots are also less painful and seem to resolve themselves in a day or two (would be weeks before using the scrub)” ~ Claudia
A tip from Claudia: I would recommend getting more than 1 bamboo cloth
Oily – breakout prone skin…
“I’ve always had trouble with my skin, an oily T-zone, blackheads and prone to breakouts. It has improved since switching to Ecology products but I always felt it could be better.”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“My skin feels softer, looks clearer and my forehead isn’t as oily as it used to be…Love it and will definitely buying more! I started with a half teaspoon for about a week to see how my skin reacted then increased to a full teaspoon.” ~ Gina
Dry itchy – breakout prone skin…
“My skin is a combination of dry and itchy but would still breakout with acne”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“[my skin] feels really soft, the texture has improved and I haven’t been getting any acne. My skin feels great” Kim
A tip from Kim: “Instead of face cloth being lukewarm, I have my cloth on the warmer side”
Dermatitis…
“Skin was under control using Ecology Moisturiser, but was still flaky and had itchy patches that would flare up. Some days these patches would really sting/burn. Not overly noticeable to others but was to me and was quite uncomfortable. Foundation would make it stand out more and would completely irritate my skin.”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“I have noticed less flare ups and sensitivity. Skin feels smoother and less flaky. Definitely notice the difference if I accidentally skip a day.” ~ Catherine
Rosacea – It’s definitely worth a try!…
“My skin has flared up since wearing a mask during covid. The redness is sore and mainly focussed on one cheek.”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“The flare up on my left cheek has reduced and my over face feels more moisurized and smooth..” ~ Kim
Less Blemishes…
“My skin, like me, is ageing with an oily t zone. Since menopause I have been getting blemishes and there are the sun/age spots.”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“I have had less blemishes- I think the salt has helped heal the ones that have come through. After using the sea salt my skin feels refreshed, clean without any tightness or dryness and non-oily.” ~ Cheryl
Breakouts…
“…before trying this product [my skin] was particularly dry, red and sore due to new medicine.”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“It has become much healthier, while my skin is still a little flaky in places it is no longer red and sore. This Dead Sea salt rinse is perfect for easing dry and irritated skin. I have noticed my skin isn’t as lovely on the days I don’t use this rinse.” ~ Kristine
Tips from Kristine: “If I covered my whole face in the cloth it felt like I was being water boarded so I had to do my face in two halves. It was also really messy to use as the cloth drips water everywhere, especially if you want to leave it on your face longer than 10 seconds. However I found doing this in this shower without the water running did fix this.”
Rosacea…
“[I have] Mature oily skin, fair complexion, with redness across the cheeks and especially the nose area. Oily enough to ruin makeup within an hour of so, looking like a grease bomb! Generally uneven skin tone. Feels smooth when first cleansed but later very greasy, my skin has always been hard work, either to keep it looking “normal” or made up, the oil always broke through….but many years later I have surprisingly few lines and wrinkles, there is an up side!”
Since using the Dead Sea Salt…
“What has changed for me so far, (and I am pleased) is my overall skin tone has evened considerably, still pink on cheecks and nose but much “cooler”, so much so that I now only apply a little make up to that area, the rest is so good. My skin has also smoothed quite a bit, not so “porie” and the amount of oily outpouring has reduced!
I will continue to use it as there has been a marked improvement in my nose and cheek area and I would like to see if this continues or not, also has helped reduce the oily outpouring….(who would complain)! I will continue to use it as a wash as it has shown more results at this time using it that way.” ~ Marilin
Tips from Marilin: “I followed the directions for a day and thought that was just too much fussing around, so I mixed up a cup full with 2 large teaspoons of Dead Sea Salt, I have been using this to cleanse my skin, using the bamboo cloth to apply then giving a gently rub. I figured I have let salt water dry on my skin many times with no negative effect so that is what I did, I let my skin air dry. First couple of days it felt a little tight, but has now adjusted. I let it dry thoroughly and then apply a teeny amount of Hemp and Nerolina Daily Moisturiser. I let that absorb and use my make up as normal”
